Description

Students investigate how multiple reflections in a kaleidoscope create symmetrical patterns. They explore how light travels in a straight path and how it reflects between two mirrors. As the angle between the mirrors becomes smaller, they see more reflections of the bead, increasing from 3 images at 120° to 12 at 30°. The activity also encourages students to explore how different mirror angles create different shapes.
