This course explores key factors impacting gifted education in today’s classroom and provides engaging strategies and resources to create a rigorous learning environment. You’ll learn how to identify students who would benefit from gifted services, understand what it means to be gifted, and implement a variety of methods to challenge and grow all students, including gifted and talented learners, across multiple learning situations.

Meets Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented Students annual professional development requirement (6 hours, 19 TAC §89.2(3) and TAC §233.1), pending local district approval.

Identifying Gifted Learners: Learn about different approaches to identifying giftedness and considerations for equity and inclusion.
Differentiating for Gifted Learners: Discover strategies for adapting curriculum, instruction, and assessment to meet the needs of gifted students.
Social-Emotional Needs: Understand the unique social-emotional characteristics of gifted learners and how to provide appropriate support.Creating Enrichment Opportunities: Learn how to design challenging, enriching learning experiences that extend beyond the standard curriculum.

GT Hours: 6 (satisfies required six hours)
