You are a teacher with a music-pedagogical background and want to learn to work with musical play with toddlers and ultimately train teachers of groups 1 and 2.

What You Learn

The Train the Trainer Musical Game course is the result of a multi-year study by the Music in Education research group at Leiden University of Applied Sciences. The research focuses on the musical play of preschoolers and on the way in which teachers can offer and guide this play. During the course you will work in a toddler group by offering and supervising musical play. You learn to observe and interpret the musical behavior of children. You also practice playing along and giving impulses to children's play, in order to stimulate their musical development. Ultimately, you will learn to train the teacher of this group in these skills.

After Completion

- you acquire more knowledge about games
- you gain more knowledge about the musical play of young children (4-5 years) and the musical development they undergo in this
- you have observation skills, including with film material 'shot' by yourself
- do you know different impulses that you can give to the game to stimulate the musical development of children
- you have the knowledge and skills to train teachers of group ½ in offering and guiding musical play
