Elementary school Course | Module 6 - Self-Talk, Self-Esteem & Self-Control

How can a kid moderate their experience, solve problems, or control themselves if they haven’t learned to use self-talk (have conversations with themselves inside their head) and to think about what they are thinking about? Where do children get their self-esteem? Did you know many kids think in pictures and haven’t learned to think in words at all? Help them learn to catch self-destructive thinking and replace those thoughts with something more accurate and positive.

“Honestly, I needed to hear some of what Brad teaches in this video! Replacing negative thoughts with positive ones is a skill that can be learned regardless of age or stage in life. What makes this video so great is that Brad presents tools and resources for teaching these most basic skills to kids of all levels. Excellent resource. Highly recommended.”

Self-Esteem Video Learning Objectives

After completing the self-esteem video course the learner will be able to:
1.) Identify how self-talk relates to self-control and self-esteem, and understand how modeling and narrating can help children develop the ability to think in words to solve problems.
2.) Use strategies to teach children how to think about their thoughts and begin recognizing extreme and incorrect thoughts and replace them with more accurate thoughts that can also result in better feelings.
3.) Implement strategies using supplied resources to teach specific patterns of thinking errors that can result in needlessly bad feelings and emotional over-reactions.
4.) Understand how adults can help build either a high or low self-esteem.
