Meet the Course Producers

Fey Cole
Fey Cole is a Further and Higher Education Lecturer in Early Years. Based in the United Kingdom, Fey also works as a Teaching and Learning Advisor, focused on supporting Teachers delivering Mandarin Language courses across Northern Ireland. Fey's research on intergenerational practice has led to her book 'Intergenerational Practice in Schools and Settings" now available through Routledge Publication. Fey has worked on a range of international projects and works closely with partner educators in Asia. She has over two decades of experience of working with Children and Young People and is actively engaged in researching the benefits of outdoor play and learning, alongside the use of project-based learning to enhance the classroom experience.

This course is designed to introduce you to the benefits of outdoor learning and consider ways to enhance your outdoor play provision for children in the Early Years.

Throughout the lesson you will reflect on how you can enhance your outdoor learning provision and consider how it can support children's creativity in the Early Years. The course requires you to evaluate your own practice and provision, with consideration given to your next steps for development.

It will be beneficial to talk through your plans with the team that you work with and reflect on how you can work together to create purposeful and effective outdoor learning spaces.

This course provides you with prompts to review how you can support children's development and engage children with the natural environment.
