Jeannie Maddox explores how the marshmallow challenge is a great activity to engage students. It supports them in learning about teamwork, cooperation, thinking skills, kindness, problem solving, inclusion, and more.

The challenge requires students to build the tallest, free-standing structure using 20 pieces of spaghetti, masking tape, string, and a marshmallow. The marshmallow must be on top.

Jeannie Maddox's students loved this activity and had a great discussion afterwards about cooperation, the problems they encountered, and what they learned about themselves.
