This teaching package is intended for the upper grades of primary education and was developed by designers and educational scientists from TU Delft, in collaboration with Jantje Beton.

The first schools have already successfully used the ‘Design an outdoor lesson’ teaching package, and it is now freely available to everyone. The package contains step-by-step instructions, creative activities, supporting PowerPoint presentations and student materials. Will you carry out the complete series of lessons or choose a few stimulating activities? Will you have students design them for their own class or for a younger group? Anything is possible, and the result is an outdoor lesson designed by your own students.

The teaching package is part of the new series of design lessons ‘Your Turn – get started as real designers’. Your Turn contains a large number of new activities for design-based learning, through which students develop important 21st-century skills: empathy, creativity and communication. For example, vlogging about your surroundings, giving objects magical properties or using a handy visual tool – the choice cross – to discover which outdoor lesson idea is highly creative and deserves to be developed further.

The teaching package can be downloaded for free here.
