The pilot phase was completed in April. The validated questionnaire is being developed by VeiligheidNL and Erasmus MC on behalf of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS).
Some other findings are:
- 29% of young people use earbuds or headphones for more than four hours a day
- Earbuds and headphones connected to smartphones are used most often for music (38%), closely followed by films and TV (33%)
Meanwhile, 100 registrations have been received. Of these, 78 young people have installed the VolumeTracker app. The organisers aim to recruit a total of 250 participants and hope to reach this number before the summer holidays. Participants who complete the entire study will receive a €7.50 gift voucher.
