It has undoubtedly been a challenging year for all schools. But the importance of learning to move well and getting enough physical activity has become clearer than ever before. That is why we are looking for schools that inspire other schools.
Participation
Any sports-active school in special (primary) education can register. Complete the registration form and, using a video or text document, demonstrate how you work on 2+1+2 and why you believe your school qualifies for the title ‘Most Sporty Special (Primary) Education School/Primary School in the Netherlands’. Taking part in the election is an excellent way to profile your school in the field of physical activity and sport.
Sports and physical activity programme: 2+1+2
It is important that your school provides sufficient, high-quality physical education lessons (2), pays attention to physical activity throughout the school day (+1), and also offers a structured extracurricular sports and physical activity programme for all pupils (+2). Cooperation is crucial in this regard. Naturally, all of this is organised according to a clear vision and occupies a clearly defined place within the school. Participating schools naturally hold the Physical Activity and Sport theme certificate of the Healthy School quality mark. For more information about 2+1+2, also read this article.
Nomination
A nomination committee will select a maximum of three schools in special (primary) education and five schools in regular primary education from all entries. These schools will compete for the title and the prizes. The nominations will be announced by 10 December 2021 at the latest.
Jury visit and interviews
In week 6 or 7, the jury will visit all nominated schools. The organisation will contact the schools to arrange a specific appointment. This jury visit will take half a day. The programme for this jury visit includes a tour and interviews with the principal, subject teacher(s), class teacher(s) and (three) pupils. Filming may also take place before the final.
Final day
The nominated schools will be invited to attend the national final day on 23 March 2022 in Groningen with a group of 25 pupils (years 7/8, age category 10–12). All nominated schools will show a video of their school, and the pupils will give a stage presentation for everyone present. This will be followed by a sports programme for the pupils and, ultimately, the award ceremony.
