What do I like?

With ‘What do I like?’ as the theme of the Week of Spring Fever, various topics are covered: learning about your body, talking about what you like, and developing a positive self-image. Lessons on relationships and sexuality are generally enthusiastically received by pupils. Pupils at the Huizingaschool in Amsterdam Slotervaart were also positive last year. “The children found the lessons about pregnancy particularly interesting,” teacher Daphne Reijerse said about the Week of Spring Fever. “It is remarkable that children ask certain questions that teachers sometimes also have to think carefully about.”

What happens during the Week of Spring Fever?

One of the aims of the Week of Spring Fever is to introduce schools to relationship and sex education. That is why attention is devoted to relationships and sexuality throughout the country and across the entire school. Schools can make use of specific lesson packages and all kinds of materials. A guide is also available.

By working on relationship and sex education during the project week, schools can take a step towards structural attention to relationships and sexuality. Healthy School provides guidance in this respect. For example, there is a step-by-step plan for schools that want to work with the Healthy School approach.
