Week of Inclusive Education

From 10 through 14 March, ‘Naar Inclusiever Onderwijs’ is organizing the Week of Inclusive Education. During this week, schools and collaborative partnerships throughout the country in primary and secondary education will draw attention to the importance of inclusive schools: schools where all students are welcome, learn together at school, grow up together and enjoy a good education.

The good news is that working towards more inclusive education is receiving increasing attention and priority in schools and collaborative partnerships. Sharing learning experiences and discussing areas for improvement in educational practice are of great value in this regard.

During the Week of Inclusive Education, ‘Naar Inclusiever Onderwijs’ is organizing special online meetings on 10, 12 and 14 March. The opening meeting on Monday 10 March will have a strongly informative character and will focus on current developments and the platform’s ongoing and future activities. On the other days, special attention will be paid to important themes and learning experiences of two collaborative partners of the NIO platform, namely the Education Consultants and the Stichting het Gehandicapte Kind.

About Naar Inclusiever Onderwijs

Four organizations work together within Naar Inclusiever Onderwijs:

Verus is the association for Catholic and Christian education in the Netherlands.
VOS/ABB is the association for governance, management and participation in public and generally accessible education.
The Nederlands Centrum Onderwijs & Jeugdzorg promotes and supports forms of structural cooperation between (special) education, organizations in the fields of youth care, welfare, (mental) healthcare, compulsory education matters and safety, and municipalities.
The Overkoepelend Netwerk Samenwerkingsverbanden is a further development of the Netwerk LPO association and the Sectorraad samenwerkingsverbanden vo.

Ten tips for the Golden Weeks in primary education

After every holiday, a group goes through certain phases in the process of group formation. The first weeks at the beginning of the school year are called the Golden Weeks. Our Food Week

From 3 to 10 October 2026, it is Our Food Week. A great opportunity to focus with your class at primary school on where our food comes from, how it is made and why healthy and sustainable choices are important. Food education allows pupils not only to learn, but especially to experience. That is why various organisations are joining forces to support schools with inspiring activities, teaching materials and practical tools. Examples include the Mayors’ Breakfast, a free visit to a farm, or shopping vouchers for cooking in the classroom.

This way, your pupils will discover why tap water is healthy and how to turn it into a festive drink!
