For preschoolers, learning to move well is the foundation for a lifetime of enjoying physical activity. Preschoolers who play and move sufficiently develop a broad foundation of motor skills, which is important for healthy development. In this session, Mirka Janssen (Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences) and Pim Koolwijk (The Hague University of Applied Sciences) will share recent insights from science and professional education on the importance of broad motor development for preschoolers. Practical experts such as community sports coach Noortje Versteegen will respond to these insights based on their own experiences and provide practical tools for applying the stimulation of physical activity in your work. Femke van Brussel (Knowledge Centre for Sport & Physical Activity) will lead the discussion. And, of course, you as a participant can also actively respond and contribute ideas. Because when it comes to getting and keeping preschoolers moving, there is still a lot to be gained—for all of us!
