Checking for weapons, drugs and alcohol

On the website of the School & Safety Foundation, you can find information about checking for weapons, drugs and alcohol. Various protocols can be found there, as well as examples of action plans. It also explains what is and is not permitted when it comes to weapon and locker inspections, and what role the police play in this. Above all, it is important that the school management includes rules on weapon and locker inspections in the school safety plan or regulations.

This information is also included in the information sheet The police as a partner in school safety. However, the information sheet has a broader scope: it addresses the relationship between the school and the police. For example, schools can enter into an agreement with the police. This sets out what the parties can offer each other and what they can expect from one another.
