Every primary school in Zeeland has a chance of receiving a voucher worth 10,000 euros to make its schoolyard greener. Each 10,000-euro voucher requires co-financing of at least 5,000 euros from the municipality. The school also contributes at least 5,000 euros in resources.

Submit your idea!

A good idea is half the work. A clear vision in which the child is central is the starting point. Why does your school want to become greener? And what will it look like? Make sure that the application form you complete is well substantiated, meets the assessment criteria and is complete when you submit it. The entries will be assessed by representatives of the partners in the Green Revolution. Tip: check the Fact Sheet: Give Zeeland’s Nature a Home on Your Schoolyard for plenty of inspiration for your schoolyard!

Green Active School

This year, the Green Active School pilot will also begin alongside the Green Revolution Schoolyards Zeeland initiative. The Green Active School is a project by SportZeeland and IVN, with the aim of making optimal use of green schoolyards for children’s physical development. The Green Active School includes a programme in which the school is supported in making optimal use of the schoolyard for physical activity during and after school hours. This year, we will work with three schools on the pilot. Would you like to participate? Register via the voucher scheme application form.

Selection

A telephone interview may be part of the selection process. These will be held on 26, 27 or 28 March. The schools will be informed by 29 March at the latest whether they will participate in the Green Revolution in 2024. The kick-off will take place on Monday 8 April from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. The applicants/contact persons at the school will be invited to this event. The school must complete the physical changes by 31 December 2024.
