Celebration policy

Have you ever heard of a celebration policy? More and more schools and out-of-school care centres are switching to a celebration policy. Under this policy, children do not hand out treats; instead, a celebration is held and the birthday child is put in the spotlight. A celebration policy offers many benefits for children, parents and the school, such as:

  • There are no more discussions about the size or contents of a treat.
  • Parents experience less (financial) stress about buying or making a treat.
  • Children no longer have to refuse a treat because of, for example, an allergy, religious beliefs or dietary requirements.

Wondering whether a celebration policy is right for your school?
