On Monday evening, 1 November, experts Iris Groenenberg and Tischa Neve will give parents of primary school-aged children tips during a free webinar. They will also answer frequently asked questions from parents, such as how to deal with snacks or how to make agreements with your child about food.
Healthy parenting tips
In the four-part mini-series ‘Healthy Parenting for Ages 4–12’, Iris Groenenberg, an expert in nutrition and health at the Netherlands Nutrition Centre, provides useful tips on how to teach children healthy eating habits. Iris: “Healthy parenting isn’t always easy. For example, a large part of the supermarket shelves is filled with food and drinks that fall outside the Wheel of Five, and there are tempting offers for sweets and snacks everywhere.”
Parents play an important role in developing their child’s healthy eating habits. Iris: “This includes setting a healthy example, offering healthy snacks, making agreements with your child and dealing with unhealthy temptations. Our evaluation of previous parenting videos with tips showed that parents found these videos eye-opening and were motivated to put the advice into practice.”
Register for the webinar
Parents can register for the webinar free of charge. Ten cookbooks from the Netherlands Nutrition Centre will be raffled among those who register.
