Theme of Spring Fever Week: Providing sexual education is a celebration!

From 16 to 20 March 2020, the fifteenth edition of Spring Fever Week will take place. The edition has chosen an appropriate theme for its third anniversary: Providing sexual education is a celebration! Spring Fever Week is a national project week for special and primary education. Participating schools teach for a week about resilience, relationships and sexuality. The project week helps to incorporate these themes into the school plan on a structural basis.

With this theme, the organisers want to show why it is so important and what schools and pupils gain from paying attention to it. From January 2020, you will find more information about the content of this theme at www.weekvandelentekriebels.nl.

Spring Fever Award 2020

Are you proud of how your school provides relationship and sexual education? Of how enthusiastically teachers get started with the theme every year? And pleased with what it brings the children? Then enter the Spring Fever Award and put your school in the spotlight. With this Award, Rutgers recognises primary schools that present the theme with great enthusiasm and where it is a permanent part of the school curriculum.

In March 2018, the Spring Fever Award was presented for the first time. With this award, Rutgers recognises primary schools where relationship and sexual education are a permanent part of the school curriculum. The Award will also be presented in 2020 during Spring Fever Week.

Our Food Week

From 3 to 10 October 2026, it is Our Food Week. A great opportunity to focus with your class at primary school on where our food comes from, how it is made and why healthy and sustainable choices are important. Food education allows pupils not only to learn, but especially to experience. That is why various organisations are joining forces to support schools with inspiring activities, teaching materials and practical tools. Examples include the Mayors’ Breakfast, a free visit to a farm, or shopping vouchers for cooking in the classroom.
