LCVS

The LCVS is a temporary task force made up of relevant parties who jointly ensure safe ventilation in every school. The aim is to stimulate local cooperation and solutions and to ensure a nationwide overview of progress. The LCVS provides support to facilitate the (exchange of) expertise. Interim reports on the nationwide overview will be submitted to the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

The members of the LCVS are committed to providing maximum support to schools so that they can ensure that all school buildings at least meet the requirements arising from the Building Decree with regard to their ventilation systems. The LCVS's ambition plan is that by 1 October at the latest, every school, its teaching staff and its pupils will know where the school stands.

Ambition plan for 1 October

For schools, the ambition plan for 1 October means the following:

  • All schools have, under the responsibility of the school board, carried out a check to determine whether the buildings meet the requirements;
  • If their buildings do not meet the requirements, they have contacted the local GGD. The measures a school must take depend on the situation. The GGD provides advice on this.
  • Before 1 October, all schools communicate to their teaching staff and pupils where the school stands. This means that the school either communicates that the buildings meet the requirements, or what plan is in place to ensure that the buildings meet the requirements. The school also communicates this to the sector council, thereby contributing to the nationwide overview.

National help desk and information point on weeropschool.nl

A single central point will be set up for schools where they can find all information about ventilation in schools and ask questions if they are unsure whether the ventilation in their buildings meets the requirements. To this end, the familiar website weeropschool.nl for schools will be expanded. The following functionalities will be set up on a new page:

Help desk for questions

Schools can ask questions about their ventilation on the page. This will work in the same way as the help desk on weeropschool.nl, where schools could ask questions about the protocols or about arranging distance education. The experts who answer the questions will be provided by the members of the LVCS.

Information provision

All available information about ventilation will be shared on the page. For example, the aforementioned ventilation guidance developed by the sector councils will be added to the page.

With these actions, Minister Slob aims—together with the parties involved—to ensure that schools, teaching staff, pupils and parents can start the new school year with confidence in the quality of the ventilation.
