The symposium will feature contributions from:

  • Robert Housmans (Member of the Provincial Executive for Social Affairs, Care and Safety at the Province of Limburg): The importance of GBT for a vital and socially cohesive Limburg.
  • Nina Bartelink and Maartje Willeboordse (researchers at Maastricht University): Long-term effects of GBT on BMI, diet and physical activity.
  • Marije Oosterhoff (researcher at Maastricht University): Cost-effectiveness of GBT.
  • Alexander Rinnooy Kan (senator, professor): The politics of the healthy school lunch.
  • Andrew Simons (Movare education foundation): Relaunch of GBT in Limburg.
  • Anoukh Ghiessen (RIVM) and Jaap Seidell (professor of nutrition & health at VU): VWS exploratory report on healthy nutrition in schools.

The symposium will conclude with a panel discussion on ‘Implications of the VWS exploratory report’.

Between each speaker, a short video pitch will be shown on the multidisciplinary effects of The Healthy Primary School of the Future and other health-promoting initiatives at schools and children’s centres.
