The organizations want to know whether parents see performance pressure in their child. What factors cause performance pressure at school? And what should the school do to prevent performance pressure at school? Or is performance pressure simply part of life, and is it important to teach children how to deal with it? These are all questions addressed in the survey. The organizations will use the results in discussions with the ministry and schools, so that appropriate education policy can be improved.
As part of the survey, parents are asked to express their views on statements such as:
- I consider mental health more important than school performance
- Performance pressure is part of life, and children need to learn how to deal with it
- My child receives a reward when they perform well
- I want my child to reach the highest level they are capable of achieving
- Parents play a role in the performance pressure experienced by their child
Parents are also asked about their own role in the performance pressure experienced by their child.
