Stopstone is for young people and young adults who:
- are motivated to quit smoking
- want to tackle this independently
- want tips and support at the times and places where they need them most
Stopstone focuses on:
Strengthening and maintaining motivation
Young people:
- create their own ‘top 3 motivations’,
- receive motivational messages (‘motivators’) that show a positive side of quitting,
- see how much they save by not smoking,
- set rewards for (small and major) successes.
Dealing with difficult moments
Stopstone helps young people prepare for difficult moments by providing practical coping strategies for different situations and moments.
Using social support
Stopstone encourages young people to ask those close to them to help them quit. The app also provides reliable sources for additional help, lowering the threshold for seeking help.
Dealing with slips and relapse
Stopstone helps young people evaluate relapse situations and deal with difficult moments next time using a (better) coping strategy.
