Doe ff Gezond is the Dordrecht version of the national Jongeren Op Gezond Gewicht approach and is carried out on behalf of the municipality of Dordrecht by the GGD Zuid-Holland Zuid. Project leader Jenna Davies of Doe ff Gezond explains: “Together, we are making Dordrecht a healthy city to grow up in! Schools and childcare organisations, including preschools, day-care centres and out-of-school care, are important partners in this. With the star-based approach, they decide for themselves how much time and effort they invest in the healthy themes. A three-star rating means that they are taking small and simple steps. Four stars means that they are paying more structural and policy-oriented attention to them. If their ambitions are higher, they can aim for five stars and, with support, work towards becoming a 'Healthy School'. Ultimately, we want to involve all locations in the city in this!”
