Solutions Lab on organizing care in education

How do you organize care for children with intensive care needs in education? The Netherlands Youth Institute, the Association of Disability Care Providers, the Association of Netherlands Municipalities, and the GO Sector Council are organizing a Solutions Lab on June 6. The Solutions Lab focuses on the story behind the figures and identifies success factors and bottlenecks.

Solutions Lab on organizing care in education

During the Solutions Lab, knowledge, experiences, and inspiring examples from practice will be actively exchanged. This includes a personal account from a parent and practical experience from the Mytylschool in Haren. In addition, a simulation will illustrate the child’s journey through the education and youth care system. What are the outcomes for children, parents, and the school organization?

The Education Lab will also address the ministry’s policy response to the findings of the research report by DSP/Oberon and the Education Consultants. Read more about this on the page What is happening around education-care arrangements.

Partnerships for appropriate education
Networks for and by children with disabilities and their parents

13:00 - Arrival

13:30 - Welcome: ‘And now moving forward again; the child’s journey at the center’

Personal account: In conversation with a parent

Policy developments: On May 31, the House of Representatives committees for Education, Culture and Science and Health, Welfare and Sport will discuss the final report ‘Towards collective financing of Care During School Hours’ by the research agencies DSP and Oberon. Representatives of both ministries will provide an explanation.

Example from practice: The experiences of the Mytylschool in Haren: together with the care coordinator and representatives of municipalities, the school mapped out how youth care could be collectivized. What has this achieved, and what does the situation look like now?

14:30 - Break

Research: the child’s customer journey in the education and youth care system. Using a simulation and care coordinators, we will examine the child’s ‘customer journey’ together: what does this deliver for the child and parents, professionals, organizations, and funders/administrators?
