Organisations must act quickly after 1 February 2020, as only 30 local organisations will ultimately receive the Small Exercise Grant. The application period will close as soon as 75 applications have been received, or, if that number is not reached, on 29 February 2020.
The amount is also limited: each organisation may apply for a maximum of 1,500 euros. Applicants are also expected to contribute their own time or financial resources. Selection criteria include feasibility, substantiation and expected results. Professionals can use the grant, for example, to promote awareness, motivation or behavioural change among parents, grandparents and/or caregivers.
Conditions for the applying organisation
There are several conditions for the applying organisation.
The organisation:
1. is registered with the Chamber of Commerce and applies for the grant as an individual organisation (not as an umbrella organisation)
2. is already active in promoting awareness, motivation or behavioural change among parents of children aged zero to four in relation to encouraging physical activity
3. has not previously submitted an application for this grant
4. is willing to provide a brief report afterwards and, if necessary, provide a more detailed explanation, so that similar offerings can be rolled out in other locations
Conditions for the application itself
The application must meet the following conditions:
1. the activity must be completed by August 2020 at the latest
2. there must be an own contribution, at least equal to the amount requested, in time or money
3. thanks to the grant, the applying organisation's offering must focus on the following three aspects for parents of children aged zero to four:
a. Raising awareness of the importance of physical activity for their children's development
b. Motivating parents to engage in physical activity with their children
c. Enabling parents to encourage physical activity among their children
Applications will be assessed at the beginning of March 2020. You will be notified by mid-March at the latest whether your application has been approved.
What steps follow after my application has been approved?
• you will receive a grant agreement in which you sign to confirm your acceptance of the conditions mentioned above
• the first 75% of the awarded amount will be transferred immediately, and the final 25% after completion and submission of a report
• implementation will start after approval and will be completed by August 2020 at the latest
• after completion, you will submit a brief report, including photos, as an explanation and form of evidence
• Kenniscentrum Sport en Bewegen will visit a few locations
