Below are a few examples of things you can take on as a school:
- Just getting started? Put together a team.
- What does a healthier canteen look like to your students? Conduct a student survey.
- Take steps from silver to gold or from gold to ideal.
- Review your offerings and, for example, present new sandwiches after the lockdown. View all our recipes.
- Sign up for the scales parade.
After the lockdown
You can of course also make preparations for after the lockdown. Read the 7 tips from the Healthy School Canteen to safely reopen your canteen.

Inspiration from the field
In addition to the 7 tips, the Healthy School Canteen also receives many ideas from the field. Here are a few.
An app for ordering food from the school canteen
Catermaat has an app that allows students to place and pay for orders. The orders are then delivered at a desired time and location within the school. This app prevents groups from forming in the canteen, limits contact with catering staff and fits in with the students' experience.
Purchasing a contactless payment system
Many schools already used a payment terminal for reasons of hygiene, convenience and safety. Due to the coronavirus, even more school canteens are now making this investment.
Extra attention to hygiene
Although handling food hygienically is self-evident for most employees in a school canteen, many schools have reviewed the hygiene code thoroughly once again.
A healthy food truck in the schoolyard
De Lingeborgh in Geldermalsen, a campus of ORS Lek en Linge, has brought the canteen outside for the students. The food normally sold in the canteen is now being offered from a rented truck in the schoolyard. The students are hugely enthusiastic about such a trendy truck in the schoolyard. And the school is now much less crowded during breaks!
