Registration for Olympic Moves 2019–2020 is now open

Registration for Olympic Moves 2019–2020 is now open. Olympic Moves, an initiative of KVLO, NOC*NSF and Coca-Cola Netherlands, introduces students between the ages of 12 and 19 to various forms of sport and allows them to experience the joy of exercising together. In an atmosphere based on Olympic values and suited to young people’s interests, they can further develop themselves physically as well as socially through Olympic Moves. More than 350 secondary schools now participate, which is almost half of all schools in the Netherlands. The final will take place on 5 June 2020.

The competition consists of four phases:

Recruitment

Only PE teachers can register teams from their school to participate in Olympic Moves. This is possible until the beginning of November. During this period, the focus is on getting students excited about the various sports and obtaining as many registrations as possible. Because of the different categories for each sport, Olympic Moves has an accessible-sport character, so everyone can participate! You can find tools here to use when recruiting students.

Selections

The PE teacher is responsible for putting together team(s) in the registered sport(s). For example, a training session or (inter-school) tournament can be organised to form a team for a sport. We have various downloadable materials available for inspiration, tips and support materials for making team selections.

Regional Finals

The selected teams are sent to the regional finals, where they compete for a coveted place in The School Final. The schedule for the regional finals will be announced at the end of December. For more information about the regional finals, click here.

The School Final

The approximately 6,000 winners of the regional finals qualify for Olympic Moves The School Final. This will take place on 5 June 2020 in Arnhem and the surrounding municipalities. During a day filled with sport, fun and entertainment, the regional winners compete for the championship for schools. Would you like to know more? Our Food Week

From 3 to 10 October 2026, it is Our Food Week. A great opportunity to focus with your class at primary school on where our food comes from, how it is made and why healthy and sustainable choices are important. Food education allows pupils not only to learn, but especially to experience. That is why various organisations are joining forces to support schools with inspiring activities, teaching materials and practical tools. Examples include the Mayors’ Breakfast, a free visit to a farm, or shopping vouchers for cooking in the classroom.
