The Poetsbus is an American school bus converted into a mobile dental hygienist practice. The Poetsbus project is committed to healthier children's teeth in North Holland and focuses on parents and children in Years 1 to 8. The project consists of classroom lessons and individual visits to the Poetsbus to raise awareness of children's own teeth. Background
The Poetsbus is a youth dental care organisation founded on the initiative of Judith Bout. After completing her studies in 1983, she established the Alkmaar dental hygienist practice. At the time, she was the fourth person in the Netherlands to start an independent dental hygienist practice. In 2014, Judith was named Dental Hygienist of the Year. In 2011, the Poetsbus had an American school bus converted into a mobile dental hygienist practice.
