An alphabet snake or letter snake is very easy to make yourself in the school playground. Of course, ready-made ones are also available, but with some coloured concrete paint and letter moulds, you can make one perfectly well yourself. For indoors, you can have a sticker made by one of the many companies that produce stickers.
The alphabet snake can be used in various ways. For example:
- Throw three beanbags at different letters and think of words that contain those three letters.
- Throw one beanbag at a letter and think of as many words as possible that begin with that letter.
- Throw one beanbag at a letter, look around the school playground for an object that begins with that letter, and run to it.
