Media Literacy Week is the annual awareness campaign about engaging with media critically and actively. Over the next three years, the campaign will focus on digital balance and growing up and living healthily in a digital world. During the kick-off, we will brief you in one hour on the campaign and how your organisation can prepare for Media Literacy Week.

Programme

Both the campaign team and a number of network partners will have their say. Together, we will explain the theme, present the toolbox and share lots of inspiration.

  • Expertisecentrum Digitalisering en Welzijn will explain in a nutshell what digital balance is, how you can view the model and how the self-assessment can provide insight into your own balance
  • Bibliotheek Utrecht will explain how, in collaboration with DOCK, JoU jongerenwerk, the Municipality and the digital literacy working group (School Board PCOU Willibrord and Utrecht's teacher training colleges), they will organise a major conference during #WvdM to inform and inspire education and welfare professionals to get more involved in media education, media literacy and online resilience
  • JOGG will explain how, as a national organisation, it uses a locally oriented approach and enters into various regional partnerships in the run-up to the campaign week, with media and health at the centre
  • Zit met Pit! will explain how, at national level, it helps children, teachers and parents literally and figuratively get moving. A key focus here is attention to the health aspects of screen use
