Great success in 2023

The second edition of School Garden Week was a great success. In 2023, no fewer than 47,997 pupils learned to sow and harvest, and 489,235 seeds were sown and seedlings planted! There was also extensive coverage on social media, in the local media and on the television programme BinnensteBuiten.

Save the date

Because the week takes place early in the year, the School Garden Alliance wants to inform supporters about all the activities as early as 23 January, during an online session from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. For each day, the School Garden Alliance has a theme and target group in mind: an opening activity, the new Golden Carrot Seed and the Golden Carrot, a national supporters’ meeting and the School Gardening Handbook.

Creating a slogan together

A slogan will also be created during the meeting. In 2023, the brainstorm resulted in the wonderful slogan: ‘Sow together, grow together’. This year, we are putting the potato in the spotlight. The organisers of Outdoor Lesson Day are focusing on the theme ‘growing your own food’ and are promoting the Great Potato Lesson, which is suitable for schools with and without a school garden. Participants are invited to think of a fun slogan before the online meeting.
