Nominated Most Athletic Primary Schools practice for battle during final day

Last week, the nominated schools were visited by athletic YouTubers, top athletes, and leading coaches. They worked with the pupils on freerunning, breakdancing, skateboarding, gymnastics, and acrobatics. During the opening on April 9, the pupils from the nominated schools will compete against each other in an athletic way, during what is known as an informal battle. Margarethaschool from Arnhem and CBS De Waterhof from Delft have been nominated for the title of Most Athletic Primary School in the Netherlands. The jury visited the schools earlier.

Margarethaschool

On March 14, the pupils of Margarethaschool worked hard on their skills in preparation for the final of the election on April 9! With the help of freerunner Rutger Schippers (@Team Tantum), skateboarder Iris Besseling, gymnasts Jana and Romy Zimmermann (@Team Superr), and breakdancer Divano Rommer (@hd_breaksquad), they practiced some awesome tricks that the pupils will use in the competition on April 9.

Omroep Gelderland and De Gelderlander were also present at this contender for the title. The pupils will continue practicing everything they have learned in the coming period and will take the stage on April 9.

De Waterhof

On March 19, the pupils (Year 8 with Mr. Nicky) at CBS De Waterhof practiced for the informal battle between the two nominated schools. YouTuber and freerunner Mees van Dam (@meesvdam), breakdancer Jerry Altenstad (@jeremodance), Jan-Willem den Haan (@streetsport.willem), and gymnast Nathalie van den Beemt (@kleurenturnen) came to the school for this. With great enthusiasm from both the coaches and the pupils, some very enjoyable stage performances were prepared. They too will continue refining their performances until April 9 so that they can shine on stage on that day.
