About the webinar
During this webinar, Gijs Verbeek will explain why student participation fits so well within the citizenship education mandate. We will look for concrete starting points and examples, so that after this webinar you can also get started with student participation at your own school. How can you truly give children a voice in education? How can you ensure that participation contributes to learning, responsibility and ownership? And how can you involve your colleagues so that you can work on this together? When registering, you can indicate which question you have about student participation. Submitted questions will be taken into account during the preparation.
About Gijs Verbeek
In 2014, Gijs Verbeek and Prof. Dr. Petra Ponte wrote the book 'Participation in Education' about the importance of, reasons for and ways of implementing student participation. He began his career in education with the conviction that things could be improved. He ultimately did so as a biology teacher in secondary education, and now works as a teacher educator. Although trained as an educational scientist, Verbeek considers himself more of a pedagogist. He also worked for quite some time at the educational institution NIVOZ.
