Drinking water companies jointly offer a programme
Drinking enough water contributes to a healthy lifestyle. Nowhere in the world is the quality of drinking water as high as it is in the Netherlands. To raise children's awareness of this and explain why drinking tap water is a healthy and sustainable choice, the ten Dutch drinking water companies (Brabant Water, Dunea, Evides Waterbedrijf, Oasen, PWN, Vitens, Waterbedrijf Groningen, Waternet, WMD and WML) are jointly organising National Tap Water Day.
For primary schools and out-of-school care
All primary schools and out-of-school care organisations can take part in National Tap Water Day and use the free educational materials. The material is offered at three levels: groups 1–3, groups 4–6 and groups 7–8. This year's central theme is: Water from the tap, well done!
National Tap Water Day materials
With the educational materials for National Tap Water Day, children discover all kinds of things about tap water as a healthy and sustainable thirst quencher. Through short, engaging activities, children from groups 1 to 8 discover why tap water is a healthy and sustainable choice. A lesson lasts 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on the activities selected.
Schools and out-of-school care organisations that register can use free materials, including a Tap Water Day poster, a guide, an animated video, a digital quiz, experiments, fun craft vlogs and an educational activity sheet for pupils.
