Three examples of outdoor lessons
On the IVN Nature Education website, you will find a wide variety of outdoor lessons. Below are three examples.
Swedish relay game
With this game for language lessons for grades 3 to 8, pupils practise recognising spelling categories.
Mushroom maths
With this game for maths lessons for grades 3 to 6, pupils learn to solve simple addition or subtraction problems from memory.
How climate-proof is your school playground?
With this game for geography, nature and technology, you investigate with your class whether your school playground is climate-proof.
The 70 lesson packages
The IVN Nature Education website features 70 lesson packages. You can sort them by duration, location and season, among other criteria.
Win an outdoor lesson with forest ranger Tim
Win a fully catered outdoor lesson with forest ranger Tim from KRO-NCRV! After Outdoor Classroom Day on 9 April, he will take one class outdoors on an educational adventure. The lesson will take place at your school on 10 April 2024 and will last half a day. Want to take part? Together with School Garden Week
This year, Outdoor Classroom Day focuses on food. The organisations are therefore joining forces with School Garden Week. This week runs from 8 to 12 April. You can find the programme here.

A special lesson has been developed for Outdoor Classroom Day, focusing on the potato. This ‘Great Potato Lesson’ is also suitable for schools without a school garden.
