The Healthy School Lunches Tool has been developed to support schools in this. This online tool gives primary schools an overview of various lunch options and practical step-by-step plans for organising or further improving a school lunch.

Schools can explore which approach best suits their vision, team and school environment. The tool shows that there are several ways to shape a healthy school lunch and that it is possible to start small. This enables schools to work step by step towards an approach that fits their own situation.

The tool was developed by the municipalities of Amsterdam, The Hague, Rotterdam and Utrecht, in collaboration with the Netherlands Nutrition Centre, the Jeugdeducatiefonds, Gezonde Basisschool van de Toekomst and JOGG.

With this tool, schools receive practical support to work towards a healthy and responsible lunch for all pupils.
