What is the ambition?
The Guideline for Food Environments in Schools provides tools based on the Wheel of Five to make the school canteen increasingly healthier and more sustainable. Schools determine their own ambition: will they go for a silver, gold or ideal School Canteen Scale?
Where do the schools stand?
Schools can see where they stand:
- If they want to get started, they can take the first steps towards a healthy and sustainable canteen.
- If they are already working on it, they can achieve a silver, gold or ideal school canteen step by step.
- If they already have a scale, they can see what else they can work on in and around the school.
So many schools are already working on it
Of all secondary and vocational secondary school locations where young people can buy food and drinks, 64% are actively working on a healthy school canteen. That amounts to nearly 1,200 school locations.
