Everything is open for discussion
Are you not feeling good about yourself? Are you having problems at work, in your studies or at school? Are things not going well at home? Are you worried about the future? Is something bothering you that you really need to get off your chest? Or do you have no idea why, but you simply don’t feel okay. Everything is open for discussion. No subject is too strange or unusual, and no problem is too small or too big.
The volunteers are trained to really listen to you, without judgement. You have all the space you need to tell your story. If you want, they can also think along with you about how you can take another step in the right direction. You are always in control.
Contact a maximum of four times a day
Because the volunteers want to speak to as many people as possible, you can have a conversation through the channels of the Alles Oké? Support Line a maximum of four times per day. Once you have reached the maximum, you are welcome again the next day. This way, they are as available as possible every day for everyone who would like to talk to them.
Initiative of De Kindertelefoon
The Alles Oké? Support Line is an initiative of De Kindertelefoon. De Kindertelefoon has been talking to children and young people aged 8 to 18 for more than 40 years. In 2021, De Kindertelefoon established the Alles Oké? Support Line because everyone aged 18 to 24 also deserves a listening ear. The volunteers behind the chat and telephone service have been specially trained for this support line.
Netherlands Youth Institute on the Alles Oké? Support Line
The coronavirus pandemic has had a major impact on young people’s mood, says Nikki Udo of the Netherlands Youth Institute. “Especially because young adulthood is a period in which young adults get to know themselves and think about their future. They need contact with others for this. Because of coronavirus, that has now largely disappeared, making things difficult for many young adults. That is why it is good that this support line is available. Although support from parents and friends is important, it can also be helpful to talk to someone else for a change. Someone who is there especially for them and knows more about the subjects they are struggling with. And above all, someone they can confide in and share their story with.”
The free telephone line is open daily from 14:00 to 22:00. You can call 0800-0450 and the chat is available via allesoke.nl.
