What does ‘Know What You Eat’ offer?
- 10 online lessons, including the special lesson ‘Conquer the Kitchen’, in which the Netherlands Nutrition Centre challenges pupils or students to cook at home.
- Each lesson takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. The lessons consist of pieces of information, videos, interactive assignments and quizzes. By answering questions, pupils or students discover whether they have read and watched carefully.
- You can complete all the lessons or choose what suits your class.
- Little preparation required.
- Track the progress of your pupils or students in a teachers’ environment.
- The teaching package contributes to core objectives from the continuous learning pathway for the lower years of VMBO, HAVO and VWO:
- People & Nature: core objectives 29, 30, 31, 34 and 35
- People & Society: core objectives 42, 43 and 46
- The teaching package is also suitable for MBO.
For a healthy future
At more than 1,000 schools, ‘Know What You Eat’ has already made pupils or students aware of healthy, safe and sustainable food. The Netherlands Nutrition Centre is delighted about this. Not every child learns about nutrition and food skills at home, after all. Yet this knowledge helps young people develop a healthy relationship with food. Everyone deserves an equal start. Knowing what healthy food is—that is something they will benefit from for the rest of their lives!
