About the participating schools
The schools competing for the title are exemplary schools for others in the area of developing physical activity policies. They offer an outstanding range of physical activity and sports and also have a specialist physical education teacher 2.0. They encourage their pupils to develop an active and healthy lifestyle. The offering is embedded in the school policy. With this competition, the organisers hope to inspire as many schools as possible and encourage pupils to be as active and versatile as possible. Participating schools hold the Physical Activity and Sport thematic certificate from the Healthy School Label.
Jury visits nominated schools
Before the award ceremony on 9 April, the jury will visit the two nominated schools. There, they will receive a tour and ask questions to the school management, physical education teacher(s), class teachers and pupils at the school.
Event on 9 April
On 9 April 2024, the two nominated schools will compete for the title ‘Most Sporty Primary School in the Netherlands 2024’ at CALO of Windesheim University of Applied Sciences. Both schools will show a video of their school, and the pupils will give a stage performance for everyone present. This will be followed by a sports programme for the pupils and, ultimately, the award ceremony. A knowledge event will also be organised for sports and physical activity professionals, partner schools, students, sports policy officials and other interested parties. The winner will succeed CBS Het Lichtpunt (Rhoon), which won the title in 2022.
