During a well-attended Lekker Fit! day at the Excelsior stadium in Rotterdam, Vivienne Tersteeg, project leader of Jong Leren Eten (on the right in the photo), received the new teaching programme Jong Lekker Fit! from Tilly de Jong of Glos Educatief (on the left in the photo). Although the programme was created in collaboration with Rotterdam Lekker Fit!, it is free to download for everyone. This was a condition of the Jong Leren Eten programme, which made the development of this package possible. The package was very well received by the schools and playgroups in attendance, as well as by out-of-school care organisations and neighbourhood and playground workers.

Because Jong Lekker Fit! consists of crossover activities, it is easy to incorporate into daily activities. It is also fantastic material for filling a themed week or month. The videos show in an accessible way what parents can do together with their child to learn about healthy and sustainable eating from an early age. They can be used during parent meetings.

Jong Lekker Fit! consists of the following materials:

  • 24 activity cards for toddlers (6 themes)
  • 24 activity cards for preschoolers (6 themes)
  • 24 fruit word cards
  • 24 vegetable word cards
  • 6 videos to inspire parents (1 per theme)
  • Manual
  • Healthy food and language skills
  • Healthy food and numeracy skills
  • Healthy food and the world around us
  • Healthy food and calm
  • Healthy food and well-being
  • Healthy food and physical activity

The crossover themes are:

Fresh vegetables and fruit can be used during the activities, but because this is not always feasible, there are 48 vegetable and fruit word cards available for download. These cards can be used instead of the fresh alternatives.
The activity cards also include variations for when you have more or less time or want to adjust the level of the activity. There is also space for notes.

The material is currently only available for download, but will soon also be available for purchase in printed form in the webshop. Would you like to stay informed? Then sign up for our newsletter at the bottom of this page.
