One of IVN’s spearheads for the coming years is bringing about a green revolution in primary schools in the Netherlands: green schoolyards and more nature education. Research among parents of primary school pupils conducted by Potter Market Research on behalf of IVN shows that parents also attach great importance to this. No less than three-quarters of them consider it important that their child learns a lot about nature at school.

The IVN Nature Education Green Schoolyards Fund is intended for schools that already have a green schoolyard. The fund is not intended for the physical greening of the schoolyard. Various grant schemes are available throughout the country to support the construction of green schoolyards. These include grants from provinces, municipalities, or other (national, regional, or local) funds.
