The subsidy can be applied for from 1 September 2021 up to and including 30 September 2021. All the conditions of the Impulse Subsidy Scheme for Physical Education are set out in the regulations. You can apply for this subsidy as the governing body of a school or institution providing primary or special primary education.

The subsidy enables you to appoint a process facilitator. Together with the school, this process facilitator develops innovative plans for more physical education lessons or for encouraging additional physical activity during the school day.

Difference between exercise and physical education

Within the subsidy, there is a clear distinction between physical education and exercising more.

The aim of physical education is to teach children to move better; this concerns the quality of movement and achieving the core objectives for physical education, as well as the associated learning pathways for physical education.

When it comes to exercising more during school hours, the objective is broader. It involves a dynamic school day, with more physical activity throughout the day and during other school subjects. Exercise can also be used as a means of supporting the core objectives of other subjects.

Application support

If your school and/or governing body received notification of the subsidy in December, you can use the scans on the KVLO website. These scans help to map the current exercise situation and determine in a targeted way which schools and which themes can be developed.

In addition, the KVLO has an support team (OTS) that you can contact with questions or from which you can obtain support if necessary. You can contact the OTS.
