Green Childcare Day was established by Vakblad Kinderopvang and Stichting Groen Cement. Together with many other organisations, they want to highlight inspiring green developments within childcare. They want to challenge childcare organisations to actively give nature and experiencing nature a lasting place. Green Childcare Day is for and by everyone who cares about nature and children: for all daycare centres, playgroups, out-of-school care locations and childminder care.

Looking back at 2018
On 15 May 2018, the fourth edition of Green Childcare Day took place. It was a highly successful day. The weather was beautiful, and locations and childminders in many parts of the Netherlands took part in green activities. The organisers received wonderful photos and inspiring stories, which they published on their Facebook page. The theme of 2018 was collaboration/connection between childcare and schools, partners, parents, etc.
They organised a photo competition, and board members of Groen Cement visited various locations to report on the activities.
