That morning, pupils from primary schools throughout the city will go beachcombing on the beaches of Den Helder and Julianadorp. They will collect washed-up materials, learn more about our coast and discover how water, nature and waste are connected. The materials they collect will later be used to create artworks. These will be displayed in the foyer of the town hall, so that everyone can see what has come out of this project.

The location for the event is Fort Kijkduin in Huisduinen. The activity will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

The project is organised as part of the Blue Schools programme, in which schools and partners work together to make children water-literate and enable them to learn from our unique location by the sea.
