Approach ‘Mental health: all of us’
The government’s approach, ‘Mental health: all of us’, is intended for all people in the Netherlands, with particular attention to young people and young adults, working people, and those in vulnerable situations. Together with the target groups and a broad range of societal partners, the government wants to make mental health open to discussion. It also wants to provide tools to promote residents’ mental health and to prevent or identify problems at an early stage.
The aim of the approach is for young people to feel good, for working people to be able to do their jobs with energy and enjoyment, and for vulnerable people to receive additional support where necessary. For European Mental Health Week, all schools, sports clubs, cultural institutions, youth organisations, employers, and civil society organisations have been called upon to pay attention to mental health.
Conference on mental health
Healthy School is taking part and is giving extra attention to mental wellbeing during European Mental Health Week. For example, the programme contributed to the conference Mental health: all of us on 22 May. Healthy School participated in two breakout sessions:
- The power of collaboration in the Wellbeing Coalition
- Strengthening wellbeing through education
