With the brochure ‘No junk in your lunchbox’, GGDzhz aims to inspire parents to send healthy food and drinks to school, so that children can get the most out of their day.
Regional coordinator for JOGG Zuid-Holland Zuid, Jenna Davies: “We live in an environment where unhealthy food is available in abundance. We are tempted everywhere. This must and can change. To help young children grow up healthily, we want to encourage parents in a positive way to fill their lunchboxes with healthy food, at least on school days. We also ask schools to focus on healthy nutrition through policy and education. Only through everyone’s efforts can we shift the norm. Together, we can make healthy the norm!”
To ensure that as many parents as possible receive the brochure, the child health clinic distributes it during the final appointment before a child turns 4. The brochure is available in a number of supermarkets, where a dietitian will also be present during the first week of school to answer questions. The brochure is also available at the library, and the schools will be sent a copy. They can order and distribute ‘No junk in your lunchbox’, or share the link.
