Get more out of your green schoolyard with IVN Nature Education

Do you have a green schoolyard or a beautiful piece of nature nearby, but lack the knowledge, expertise or materials to make optimal use of it? The IVN Nature Education Fund can help you with that! Apply for up to €2,000 by 2 October via the Cultural Fund.

Is my project eligible?

There are several conditions for being eligible for the IVN Green Schoolyards Fund. First of all, the fund is aimed at school boards. As a school board, you can submit a project proposal that fits into one of the following two categories:

Knowledge & expertise: Consider offering a course for nature parents or training for teachers. For example, a course to become an outdoor teacher, or training in teaching gardening.

Materials: Consider purchasing materials that encourage the educational use of the green environment. For example, an outdoor lesson box or identification cards. You could also consider purchasing a birdhouse with a camera or digital microscopes.

Our Food Week

From 3 to 10 October 2026, it is Our Food Week. A great opportunity to focus with your class at primary school on where our food comes from, how it is made and why healthy and sustainable choices are important. Food education allows pupils not only to learn, but especially to experience. That is why various organisations are joining forces to support schools with inspiring activities, teaching materials and practical tools. Examples include the Mayors’ Breakfast, a free visit to a farm, or shopping vouchers for cooking in the classroom.
