Get started with the assignment in the Weet wat je eet teaching package
For Food Waste-Free Week, the Netherlands Nutrition Centre has developed a special practical assignment for schools. After the summer holidays, this new assignment can be found in the Weet wat je eet teaching package from the Netherlands Nutrition Centre, in lesson 5, ‘smart shopping and storage’. Weet wat je eet is a free online teaching package about nutrition for secondary and vocational education.
Would you like to make the school even more food-waste-free?
Using the discount code pakket23, you can now order 50 Eetmaatjes, refrigerator and freezer stickers free of charge and without shipping costs from the Netherlands Nutrition Centre's webshop. These are very handy tools that you can hand out to your students during Food Waste-Free Week to help them waste less at home. The Eetmaatje, for example, is an easy-to-use measuring cup that helps you measure the right portions of pasta. The refrigerator sticker shows you what should and should not be kept in the refrigerator for optimal shelf life. You can apply for these until 14 July at the latest, and the code is valid for the first 200 applications, so be quick!
About Food Waste-Free Week
We are all paying increasingly more attention to the issue of food waste. This is important, because a quarter of all food produced in our country is still lost. Food Waste-Free Week is an initiative of various government bodies and organisations, such as the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, the Netherlands Nutrition Centre, the Province of North Brabant, Wageningen University and Rabobank. Together, they are committed to achieving results and making an impact by preventing and reducing food waste.
