There is no place at school for inappropriate behaviour, intimidation, bullying, theft or aggression. How can your school create a socially safe learning environment? You invest in clear rules and the right points of contact: you do it together. You record this in the School Safety Plan.
Why renew it?
To support schools in drawing up a school safety plan, School & Safety developed the Digital Safety Plan in 2016. Because the tool had become outdated, partly due to continuous technological advances and the evolving safety needs of schools, it needed to be replaced. Since 1 June 2023, the new Digital Safety Plan has been available via digitaalveiligheidsplan.nl.
What is new?
The tool for schools offers a structured, step-by-step process for creating a school safety plan. It contains guidelines specifically designed to meet the needs of schools. The tool provides a template for drawing up a professional and comprehensive safety plan.
- Get inspiration for each question through practical guidance: articles, tools, conferences and training courses.
- See clearly what the law requires for each question.
- Throughout the year, you are encouraged to actively address social safety at school through an inspirational email.
- Easily add online documents via a link, so your documents are always up to date.
- One place for schools and governing bodies to log in.
School governing bodies take the lead
School & Safety understands that the needs of individual schools and school governing bodies may differ. That is why two versions of the tool have been developed: one specifically for schools and one for governing bodies.
For school governing bodies, we have developed a version of the tool that allows them to add schools manually and provide them with guidelines, including documents. This enables governing bodies to apply a consistent and standardised approach when developing safety plans for all their affiliated schools. This functionality allows governing bodies to coordinate and support safety measures at schools quickly and efficiently.
As a school, you can of course always create your own account and get started with your school safety plan.
Everything in one place
The Digital Safety Plan is completely free to use. By answering questions, you cover all aspects related to social safety. The Digital Safety Plan is a central place to find all protocols and documents relating to social safety.
The digital tool provides inspiration to actively address social safety at school. It also provides insight into what the law requires of the school. Once you have covered all the aspects, you can easily download your School Safety Plan and put it into use. This gives you an integrated policy on social safety.
