The students set up this project during the period when the catering industry was closed, with the help of teachers and sponsors. “What started as a small idea during the catering classes at school grew into a major project that teachers and students have worked hard on together over the past few months. During the coronavirus pandemic, many catering businesses closed their doors. There were no work placements available for the students, so we looked for new opportunities. The idea for our own food truck was born quickly,” says De Baanbreker, which has officially been a Healthy School since April 2019.

All products from the ‘Met Smaak’ food truck are made and sold by students from De Baanbreker. The food truck is there every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday during lunchtime and will soon also be available to book for events.
